The Lull

Things seemed to have slowed down a bit lately. I don't know if it's just this time of year, people are busy and don't have the time to read or comment and life is hectic.

There is a lot going on behind the scenes, but it feels like there is this lull in interaction and traffic, well except for my post about boobs which unsurprisingly caused a spike. I guess the tattoo posts also generally illicit a bit of a response but otherwise...crickets.

It doesn't particularly bother me, although I do wonder where everybody went. If people are actually reading and just don't have time to comment or if I'm just sitting here talking to myself.

Perhaps I'm not giving much to comment on? Or is it just the natural ebb and flow of things. The tide has been in, and now it is time for it to spend a little time out to sea?

It makes me wonder, should I be doing more? Trying to make my content somehow more appealing, more interactive?

Maybe, but then this little space is mainly for me and I just get a kick out of others enjoying it. So I don't really want to change anything to try to please anyone. I'm quite happy pleasing myself in this little corner of my world.

So, I guess I shall just ride it out. Things are about to get quiet on here for a week or so anyway what with me running off to Melbourne for a week.

So maybe we can both take a turn at taking a break? Come back when we have more time and are both feeling the inspiration. I guess by then I will have plenty to share.

Maybe it's just new to me, being relatively new to the blogosphere. I have a feeling that this little ebb and flow just happens. Nothing new. Get used to it.

But I wonder, especially to those more experienced in all things blogging...

What do you do when things slow down? Do you try to combat it or just ride it out?

It's just the time of year. Plus I can sometimes be more of a blog stalker/reader than a commenter. Everyone's just busy little bees. I am always watching lovey.... always hehehhe

Hahaha thanks Mz Vicki, that's not creepy at all! :P I guess I am new to the whole blogging at Christmas time thing, so it's nice to know it's just the time of year and not something I said ;)

me too! Ive had a spike in visits but zilcho comments...Im wondering if people click because it looks interesting and then die of boredom half way through reading. As much as blogging isnt about what you get back sometimes you just need something to show your heading in the right direction. Perhaps we could start a bloggers xmas support group where we make random comments of love on lonely sites??

Oooh Sarah I love that idea! haha a sort of 'lonely hearts club' for blogs feeling a little neglected. It's certainly comforting to know I'm not the only one experiencing this though :)

I haven't noticed, thought I've been a bit slack at updating my blog in the last month. Have so many good posts tucked away ready to come out, unfortunately uni comes first :(

That was a sidetrack- anyway, re: commenting- some days, I read blogs and I'm just not in the mood. It's unfair, but I just want to read them like I read a book. I mean to come back, but I get distracted. Have been loving your tattoo posts, I must admit! :)

Yeah to be honest Amy, I am a bit guilty of that myself. Or I don't quite know what I want to say, so it easier to say nothing I guess.

Also, good girl! You have your priorities right - you will go far :)

Some days I read blogs and am in a chatty mood and comment. Other days I am all reclusive and introverted. Christmas knocks all the normality out of everything though!

lol at Sarah's comment about clicking because it looks interesting and dying of boredom. That's what I am scared of doing to people:)

So I guess the general consensus is to quit my bitchin? Haha at least now I'll know for next year...if you haven't all already died of boredom :P

I promise you, it's this time of year. December has been my slowest month {compared to the months before and after it} BOTH of the years I've been blogging.

Cricks, sort of, at my blog too. It's just the way it rolls. People are crazy busy.

Well everyone has helped to put my mind at ease, perhaps I'll just sit back and enjoy the peace :)
